New Island Hospital is proud to announce the opening of its unique brand new Outpatient Balance Center, the first and only center of its kind in this region. The center will boast state of the art equipment and a panel of highly competent healthcare professionals directed by Birendra Trivedi, M.D., Board Certified in Neurology. This team including New Island's Physical Therapy Department will collaborate to provide the highest quality of specialized care to our patients. Physical Therapists will provide balance retraining along with traditional P.T. if needed, on an outpatient basis.

The Balance Center will diagnose and treat patients suffering from dizziness, vertigo, difficulty judging distance, and those with a history of falls as well as those with balance related symptoms from head injuries, car accidents or work related injuries. Balance testing is quick and painless.

Balance and fall prevention has largely been overlooked by the health care industry. New Island Hospital has realized the need for this service and seeks to offer excellent care through this new endeavor.

In our busy lives, health care needs to be more accessible and our new outpatient programs are designed to do just that. Our outpatient programs include; The Balance Center, Hyperbaric Medicine & Wound Healing, The Center for Sleep Medicine, Radiology & Vascular Laboratory, and Physical Therapy.
