September 11th Ceremony


 



New Island Hospital employees, physicians and Board of Directors along with Chief James Baudille, from the Bethpage Fire Department and Inspector Michael Cronin and Captain Alvin Jackson and the Police Officers from the 8th Precinct held a solemn ceremony in memory of the victims who perished on September 11, 2001.


The Honorable, Judge Christopher Quinn of Nassau County District Court and Board of Director at New Island delivered a touching speech recognizing the
heroic firefighters and police who fought so valiantly to save as many lives as they could and the memory of all those who died on that tragic day.

Firefighters Michael Mackie, Brendan Keys, and Anthony Gray also employees of New Island Hospital lowered the flag to half staff while Hank O'Neill played Amazing Grace on his Bag Pipes. Guests from the community along with hospital staff ended the ceremony by holding a moment of silence in remembrance.
